Dunblane

Dunblane
a town in central Scotland. In March 1996 a local man called Thomas Hamilton shot and killed 16 children and a teacher in a Dunblane nursery school, before killing himself. Public feeling was so great that by the middle of 1997 the British government had passed a law making it illegal to own most types of handgun:

the Dunblane massacre.
