a. arrack, raki, from Arabic ʿaraq, sweat, a strong, clear liquor made of raisins;
b. borage, probably from Arabic būʿaraq, from ʾabū ʿaraq, father of sweat. Both a and b from Arabic ʿaraq, sweat, from ʿariqa, to sweat, perspire.
