Topkapı Palace Museum

Turkish  Topkapi Sarayi Müzesi,  

      in Istanbul, collection of classical antiquities, manuscripts, ceramics, armour, textiles, and other artifacts, housed in the sultans' Seraglio (Topkapı Saray). It was established in 1892 and later extended.

      The library contains 18,000 manuscripts, more than 23,000 archival documents, and private papers of various sultans. It also contains a selection of Islāmic relics.
