Telingāna

Telingāna

also spelled  Telangāna, or Telengāna,  also called  Andhra,  

      historical and linguistic region of peninsular India, comprising the north-central and northeastern portions of Andhra Pradesh state. The Dravidian Telugu tongue is chiefly spoken there. The region was ruled by the Andhra Buddhist kings (Sātavāhanas) from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. The main cities in the region are Hyderābād, Warangal, Vijayawāda, Rajāhmundry, and Vishākhapatnam.
