      American football player (b. April 3, 1934, Macon, Ga.—d. July 18, 2005, Columbia, Md.), became in 1973 the first full-time offensive lineman inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Parker played under legendary coach Woody Hayes at Ohio State University, where he earned All-America honours and won the 1956 Outland Trophy as the nation's top lineman. He played 11 seasons (1957–67) with the Baltimore Colts, earning Pro Bowl honours eight times. Regarded as one of the finest linemen ever to play, Parker was part of two National Football League championship teams (1958 and '59).
