Jack Ernest Gutteridge 
      British professional wrestler (b. Jan. 12, 1926, London, Eng.—d. Feb. 11, 2006, Ramsgate, Kent, Eng.), starred in the golden age of British professional wrestling and had a memorable rivalry with Mick McManus that peaked with a 1967 bout at London's Royal Albert Hall. Pallo acquired his professional name when he became a wrestler in 1951. He was a regular on ITV's Saturday afternoon show World of Sport from its 1964 inception and became a popular villain known for his devious tricks in the ring and his garish image, which included striped shorts and long blond hair tied back with a velvet ribbon. Pallo's autobiography, You Grunt, I'll Groan, appeared in 1985.
