Kou·fax (kōʹfăks'), Sanford. Known as “Sandy.” Born 1935.
American baseball player. A left-handed pitcher for the Dodgers (1955-1966), he struck out 2,396 batters and three times won the Cy Young Award (1963, 1965, and 1967).
