      American football player (b. Oct. 20, 1932, Charlottesville, Va.—d. June 9, 2004, Columbus, N.J.), manned the left-tackle position on the offensive line for the New York Giants and was instrumental in helping the team win one National Football League title and six division titles. Brown was drafted out of Morgan State College (now Morgan State University), Baltimore, Md., in 1953 and during his 13-year playing career (1956–63) with the Giants was named to eight All-Pro teams. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1975. Brown went on to coach and scout for the Giants after his playing career ended.
