Coo·lidge (ko͞oʹlĭj), (John) Calvin. 1872-1933.
The 30th President of the United States (1923-1929), who took office after the death of Warren G. Harding. A strong supporter of business, he encouraged speculation that led to a stock market boom in the 1920s, followed by economic collapse.
