American College Test
a standardized aptitude examination for college admission, developed by the American College Testing Program, consisting of multiple-choice tests in English, mathematics, natural-science reading, and social-studies reading as well as a personal student-profile section, graded on a scale of 0 to 36 and according to percentile rank. Abbr.: ACT. Cf. Scholastic Aptitude Test.
