Sadie Hawkins Day

Sadie Hawkins Day
(in the US) a day on which women invite men to a social event, especially a Sadie Hawkins Day dance. This is often done by students in a high school, college or university. The custom takes its name from a character in the Li’l Abner comic strip. Sadie Hawkins is a woman who is not married and is very anxious to have affairs with men.
