Member of the European Parliament

Member of the European Parliament
(abbr MEP) (also Euro-MP) n
a person elected as the representative at the European Parliament of any of the 81 constituencies into which England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are divided in elections for this parliament. These elections are separate from general elections for the British Parliament. They were first held in 1979 and take place every five years.
