Department for Constitutional Affairs

Department for Constitutional Affairs
the British government department responsible for the law and for people’s rights to be treated fairly and to elect their government freely. Its aims are to improve the justice system and the way the government of the country is organized, for example, by establishing a supreme court to replace the Law Lords. The Scotland Office and the Wales Office are part of this department. It replaced the Lord Chancellor’s Department in 2003.
