Andy Capp{™}
a humorous character in a British strip cartoon created by Reg Smythe (1917–1998) and appearing in the Daily Mirror since 1957. The cartoon also appears in newspapers in the US. Andy Capp drinks a lot, is very lazy, and is unfair to his wife Flo. He always wears a flat cap, which was a traditional working man’s piece of clothing, and has a cigarette hanging from his mouth:

She’s got a real Andy Capp of a husband – he’s utterly selfish!
