Chiuta, Lake

      lake on the border between Mozambique and Malawi (Malaŵi) in southeastern Africa, drained northward by the Lugenda River. It is narrow (2–8 miles [3–13 km] wide) and about 40 miles (64 km) long; its southern shore is marshy and indefinite.
