Tretick, Aaron Stanley

      American photographer noted for his candid images of the family of Pres. John F. Kennedy; while working for Look magazine in 1963, he was invited to take behind-the-scenes photos at the Kennedy White House and he produced some memorable shots, including one of young John F. Kennedy, Jr. (q.v.), peering out from under his father's desk in the Oval Office. Tretick later covered the 1968 presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy and, after Look folded in the 1970s, worked for People magazine (b. July 21, 1921, Baltimore, Md.—d. July 19, 1999, Gaithersburg, Md.).
