East Side
A section of New York City on Manhattan Island east of Fifth Avenue. The northern part, approximately between 57th Street and 96th Street, is also known as the Upper East Side and includes many fashionable shops and residences. The Lower East Side, south of 14th Street, was long a home to immigrants from eastern Europe.
