a long-necked container, esp. for water, usually of porous earthenware so that its contents are cooled by evaporation.
Also, guglet, gurglet.
[1690-1700; < Pg gorgoleta (dim. of gorja throat), akin to F gargoulette (dim. of gargoule throat); see GARGLE]
